It appears to be used solely for manoeuvring into a better position before causing all hell to break loose. Similarly, it will not work when players are shooting, or when they are too close to enemies. It is most effective when the player is crouching or prone, while movement disrupts its usefulness. In some ways, this is reminiscent of the Octocamo of Metal Gear Solid 4. Another nifty device is the Optic Camouflage. This isn’t the only drone to be included in the game, but it gives an idea of just what else may be present. However, it has a relatively limited flyspace, dropping out when it ventures too far from the player’s position, and it can also be detected by enemy forces, alerting them to your potential presence. This can be deployed and flown about to survey the environment and determine enemy positions before engaging them in any way. The shooter genre is typically known for frenetic, action-heavy design ethics frequently populated by blockbuster moments. This is one third person shooter that has always sat upon the line between accuracy and accessibility, meaning that it has never really achieved the heights of popularity that it is, perhaps, deserving of. In concert with this, each game is set in the near future from its release, allowing for minor advancements over modern technology to facilitate imaginative gameplay. Ghost Recon has typically focussed on squad-based warfare taking place on large, open battlefields while most of the story and plot is carried by political motivations. Each of them canvasses a different aspect of war while also presenting a more authentic experience than what is offered by most other games. ![]() ![]() ![]() Among Ubisoft’s more recognisable properties are their Tom Clancy branded series. ![]()
